Maruti 800 is a city vehicle designed and developed in India by Maruti Suzuki and is a rebadged version of old Suzuki Alto. More than 250K 800 vehicles have marketed since its introduction in the year 1983 and the same vehicle is marketed as Suzuki Mehran in Pakistan with carburetor based Suzuki SS80 engine. It was one of the best selling vehicles in the country till 2004; winning its introduction Alto took that designation. It is also marketed to numerous nations in South Asia along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, and to quite a few South American markets like Chile and was offered in preferred European markets between 1988 and 1992.
