The Indian market has now been identified as one that is prepared to accept smaller luxury cars. Going by this notion, Mini Cooper plans to introduce in India cars manufactured by its fully owned subsidiary MINI. Mini is its small range car that is already being produced in Austria and the United Kingdom, having been launched there by the British Motor Corporation. The two-door model of this car was first brought into the market in 1959 and later on it’s convertible, estate and crossover models emerged. When Mini Cooper took over MINI, these cars came to be known as Mini Cooper Mini or New Mini. Present range of these cars includes Convertible, Hatch, Cooper, Clubman and Countryman models.
