Automobili Lamborghini, commonly referred as Lamborghini is an Italian auto manufacturer. The firm firstly was introduced in 1963 and since then Lamborghini is been a thorn for the rival group named Ferrari.
Lamborghini was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini on 30th October and was based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The main objective of the company is to offer grand touring cars, predominantly built for extreme performance, style and speed. At present the key people working with these firms are Stephan Winkelmann as CEO and Wolfgang Egger as Head of Design.
The production output for Lamborghini vehicle for 2012 was 1,227 units, Revenue as US $97.5 million and Profit of US $18.1 million. As compared with the last year’s sales figures, the sales of the company were down with a reduction of 2.6 percent (2009- 156.9 million Euro and 2012- 152.9 million Euro). The Italian manufacturer delivered only 674 cars effectively in 2010, as of 2009 they sold about 825 units. The company successfully sold its Gallardo and Murcielago car models, the only two cars during the model year of 2010. For the year 2009, the company sold its 20 special edition car models. Let’s hope for the next year there will be increase in the sales production from the Lamborghini automaker.

As of November, Murcielago model came to end and hence they launched new Gallardo LP560-4 and Spyder. No doubt, the Murcielago’s was successor over the past few years that created huge space among many speed car lovers. The all new 2012 Lamborghini Aventador is the prime flagship model in 2011. Besides these other models that are running successfully on the roads are Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder, Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, Gallardo LP-550 -2 Valentino Balboni, Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante and Gallardo Bicolore.
The Lamborghini Countach, Diablo, Espada, Estoque, Ferruccio, GT, Islero, Jalpa, Jarama, LM, Miura, Reventon, Sesto, Silhoutte and Uracco are few other models offered by the automaker.
Beloved by speed, style and performance lovers, Lamborghini cars are fun to drive. The automaker released their first model in the mid 1960s and was noted for comfort, power and refinement. Lamborghini received wide appreciation during 1966 for its sports coupe. Miura was established as the standard mid-engine design and high performance cars from that era. Ferruccioi Lamborghini was born in 1916s that was capable, strong willed Taurus and impetuous man and still it is the leading manufacture in offering high speed performance cars. Lamborghini Tractor Company had become the largest agricultural manufacturer in mid 1950s. Besides these Ferruccio was successful owner of air conditioning and gas heater manufacturer.
Everything got changed when Ferruccioi Lamborghini met Enzo Ferrari. It was the moment; when he decided his desire in order to built high speed cars along with all luxurious interiors. A complaint about the clutch problems was told by Ferruccioi Lamborghini to Ferrari, which he further answered as, “The problem was not because of the clutch, it was with the driver and hence driver should take care while driving. The disappointed answered received from Ferrari made him to change the transmission that is used in the tractors. Besides these he also asked some of the talented people who worked with Enzo Ferrari that includes Giotto Bizzarini, Franco Scaglione and Gian Paolo Dallara.
Ferruccioi Lamborghini was inspired by Taurus and thus he started using the sign as emblem on all his cars. Nowadays, Lamborghini are named after bulls. Giotto Bizzarrini, who used to work with Ferrari was appointed by Lamborghini for manufacturer and designs for V12 engine. Later, V12 engine was successfully delivering 400hp, but Ferruccioi wanted to build GT car and not a racing car, thus the power was deducted to 280hp.
Lamborghini manufactured its first model as GTV prototype and the initial production was started in 1964 for the Lamborghini 350 GT. The history of the Lamborghini continued and here entered the Miura, a real supercar that was well known as the bull race car model. The Lamborghini Espada 400Gt was a big hit and more than 1,200 cars were built at Sant’Agata.
During 1970, the driver Bob Wallace transformed its Miura model in to the race car as Miura S. He reduced the weight, placed new spoilers and redesigned the suspension that could sprints from 0 - 60mph in just 3.2 seconds. Ferruccioi was not interested much in race proposal and so he decided to sell Lamborghini Miura Jota car model to an Italian enthusiast. The company suffered lot in 1970 because of some economic crunch that made Ferruccioi to sell his favorite Swiss car, George Henri Rossetti. Due to the darker days, only Coutach 400S was produced and sold further to French brothers Jean Claude and Patrick Mimran. In 1987, Lee Laccoca bought Lamborghini Company for $33 millions.
During 1990 in laccoca era, the Lamborghini Diablo was released, and in 1998 it was sold to Audi that made things better and better. Due to the large infusion of technological and cash, the firm introduced Murcielago in 2001. The success was followed more from 2003 Gallardo that proved about the company’s focused largely in order to build luxurious and fast supercars particularly designed for modern drivers. Gallardo model was the successful car that sold almost 10,000 units. The automaker produced its 4,000th Murcielago in 2012 an LP 67- -4 SV, especially for China customers. The growing Asia Pacific market for Lamborghini represented increased in its sales and so the company is trying to capture the market even in the small parts and every corner of the country.
