Maruti Alto is an Indian-designed version of 5^th generation Alto, developed and engineered by Maruti Suzuki. It was introduced in India in the month of September 2000, albeit Alto nameplate was quite successfully being used for exporting Maruti Zen from India to Europe since 1994.
